Before choosing an activity, define what pupils should be able to notice, explain, or apply by the end. The same puzzle can introduce an idea, offer practice, or check a strategy depending on the questions used.
The collections include versions for several age bands. Adaptation should also reflect classroom experience, not only the age shown in a title.
- Show one short example before independent work.
- Encourage pupils to compare strategies, not only answers.
- Close with a one-minute reflection on what they noticed.
